Over the past year, we've been hard at work updating all the existing GameMaker Extensions and releasing new ones that we believe will make game development much easier. From simplifying integrations with platform holders to providing easy access to the toolkits used by the largest development studios, the GameMaker Extensions team has been busy creating new tools and improving old ones.

One of our most exciting ventures is the brand-new GameMaker Twitch Extension.

We've been working on this for a while, and we know it's something that's been heavily requested for even longer! We're confident it will meet your expectations, but if it doesn't, feel free to contribute bugs or pull requests via the Twitch Extension GitHub repository!

What Does GameMaker’s Twitch Extension Do?

The GameMaker Twitch Extension supports a wide range of Twitch features that you can integrate into your game. You can track subs, bits, channel points, goals, predictions, raids, tags, teams, and users. If you want Twitch chat involved in your game, this extension has you covered.

One fun experiment we've tried internally is creating a streaming overlay entirely in GameMaker! We think GameMaker users will find it straightforward to build Twitch overlays within GameMaker, adding a whole new level of interactivity to their streams.

Our Thanks

Before we wrap up, we'd like to express our gratitude to GameMaker community legends Sidorakh and TabularElf for their initial efforts and insights regarding the Twitch REST API integration. Their foundational work and community support provided valuable references that helped shape our extension. Their perspectives played a pivotal role in the development process, and their shared knowledge was instrumental in guiding our approach.
